The Process

The process of writing a book, editing and getting published is not easy by any means, there are ups and downs, writers block, insecurity and rejection. Curently I am still seeking a literary agent, with my first try with Ethan Ellenberg coming up short I have put out my second querry letter. so again I am playing the waiting game while working on book 2, planning for book 3 and editing book 1, but I must say it is all worht it and will pay off in the end. For those of you who are along for the ride, I anticipate this ride getting more thrilling as time passes, so hands up baby.

A little bit of color

Progress

So today I am just revising and revising and revising. I have yet to contact the editor from OPEL, but I will make sure that I do so this coming Friday.

For some reason I think it would be cool if there was a scene with our savior standing in front of the Christ the Savior staue in Rio, maybe one of my artist can bring that one to life.

Ricardo Jackson part II

Why I am writing this book

Some of you may be wondering why am I writing this book, or for that matter, a book in the first place. This book project stems from my frustration with organized religion. For those of you who know me, you have already heard my complaints about organized religion and some of you may share them same frustrations with me, this book is for us and any one who is not happy with the world that we live in.

I am so jaded about organized religion to the point that even though I want to go to church every time that I think I want to go, I believe that all I will see is the bad in the Church. I see people going to church for every reason but God. To gossip, to socialize, to find a job, a wife, a date, to politic, to gain something outside of spiritual enlightenment. I can’t participate in that life style; I don’t want it, so I have decided to keep my relationship with God in between me and him. I also do not believe in everything that the bible says, with so many books and stories, written by men, everything in the book can not be right and accurate. I am also frustrated with cherry picking Christians who pick certain verses out of the bible and run with it, ignoring the rest of the book. We are all sinners, one should not waist the time casting judgment on other people for their sins, instead we should help our fellow men get out of their current situations, but then again that would be too much like right.

I am a human being, I have thoughts and even though I was raised a Christian and even though I still believe in God, I am disappointed in the fact that religion has not united the world. Is there anything that can unite the people of the world outside of a major international crisis that would threaten the existence of the human race? I don't know, politics has failed us, religion has failed us. The dream of a better tomorrow still lives on in all of us, but how long do we have to wait to see it?

And so I write, venting my frustration with the world, I write, exploring the possibilities of a better tomorrow, I write challenging the God that we serve, yes, challenging him to love us like he use to.

Ladies and gentleman Introducing the amazing Ricardo Jackson

Inspiration

So my quest for an artist has taken me in many directions and I have found three potential artists who were interested in my book project. I am also going to be talking to a book publisher in a few days about my project that could potentially help me edit and publish my book. During a recent outing I was also able to discuss my project in depth with some of my friends who were excited about the potential of project. Out of that discussion some big dreams were born, that I can't wait for them to see the light of day.

Full steam ahead ladies and gentleman, more to come soon.

Africa on my mind

I am revising my Africa scene, since I started working on this book; I have had such a hug fascination with this continent. The fact that he world cup was held there did not help either. I want to add a little ore to this scene, so i will be sitting in front of my computer all night gain, or maybe I should go work out and see what pops into my head.

Oh Africa….

What If?

What if Jesus returned today, would he be happy with what he sees? Will he be proud of his father’s creation? Will we have fulfilled his dream of an enlightened and peaceful human race? Will we have followed the blueprint that he left us over two thousand years ago? Or will he be unhappy, what would his will be in the new millennium, wrath or grace? If you want to know what I think, you might want to check out this book once it hits the shelves.

Failure and Redemption Book Summary

In the battle of good and evil the year 2052 will pose a pivotal year. With the world’s population at well over 9 billion the devil finally has the opportunity to tip the scales of the cosmos. He can acquire more souls than heaven making him and his kingdom the most dominant and powerful force in all of existence. “Let his Will be done.”

The devil returns to earth in the flesh to seal the deal. With his power of persuasion and a limited but powerful reserve of supernatural magic the devil seeks to split the human race with a third world war. The devil has chosen seven men blinded by ambition and revenge to carry out his mission.

Can the devil finally get the upper hand over heaven? Have his plans and actions gone unnoticed or is the devil and the Human race a part of something bigger than all of them?

Ultimately there is one question. Will there be failure? Or will there be redemption?
